Title: INNOVATION MANAGEMENT AS "DRIVER" OF THE SCHOOL SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OF THE REFORMED CHURCH IN HUNGARY
Abstract: The innovation could be not only the engine of the industry and economy, but it is also a tool of development of the non-government sector of a certain country, and of other communities and organisations of the society. The innovation strategy and innovation management in certain circumstances are used in a planned way, and wittingly, but some elements of the innovation strategy and innovation management may occur even in those situation, when the organisation hasn�t got a well-defined innovation strategy, or the innovation management of a certain process or activity is not wittingly planned. 
In the first part of this paper we will give an example how the innovation strategy and innovation management was present in the life and activity of the Reformed Church in Hungary in its early time (16th-18th century) first of all in its service toward the larger society building up a strong educational system. In the second part of this paper we will present, how the innovation strategy and innovation management plays a significant role in the planning and implementing a coherent strategy of school system development of the educational institutions maintained by the Reformed Church in Hungary and in a wider sense in Carpathian Basin.
